Our mission

Reducing microplastic exposure, one home at a time.

We use countless plastic products every day, and each one adds to our exposure. We read the research so you know which ones to change first.

What the science says so far

$1.5T+

A year in health costs from plastics, worldwide.

The Lancet, 2025

16,000+

Chemicals in plastics. 4,200+ hazardous; under 6% regulated.

PlastChem, 2024

3,000

Studies screened by UCSF researchers, who rated microplastics a suspected hazard to reproductive health.

ES&T, 2024 · mostly animal studies

100%

Of healthy brain samples in a 2026 study contained micro- or nanoplastics.

Nature Health, 2026 · early research

The evidence on plastic chemicals is compelling and every human is exposed to plastic particles. Making changes in your daily routine is easy and can have lasting, long-term impact.

What you control

You can’t fix the unending ocean of products made from plastics. You can change what you store food in, how you heat it and what you drink from.

We don’t overstate the science.

What we know

Plastic particles and chemicals are in our food, water, air and dust. Heat and wear make plastics shed faster. In 2023, Europe’s food safety agency cut its safe daily limit for BPA by about 20,000 times.

What science is still uncovering

Researchers are only beginning to measure what plastic particles do inside the body, and new studies arrive every month. Expect some early findings to be revised as better studies come in. We follow the research as it evolves and update our guides when the evidence moves.

How we work

01

We review the research

We read the full study, check its limits and report what it found. See the science.

02

We check the materials

Plastic hides in coatings, liners and packaging. We look before we recommend anything. Browse the guides.

03

We keep it doable

Nobody replaces everything in a weekend. Start with one room. The beginner’s guide shows where.
