About Plastic Free Everything: who’s behind it and why.
I’m Cam. I started this site to find out which changes matter most. Plastic Free Everything is one family’s effort to get plastic out of our home, written down so you can do the same.
I grew up surrounded by plastic. Plates, water bottles, food storage, packaging. It was always there, and I never thought about it.
Twenty-five years later there is more of it than ever. Then the research started piling up: microplastics in our water, our food and the air inside our homes.
In 2024, my wife and I decided to do something about it. We started in the kitchen. The plastic cutting boards went first, then the cooking utensils. We replaced single-use items with bulk goods in glass and metal.
I got tired of guessing, so I started reading the studies and checking what products are made of.

Who runs Plastic Free Everything?
I do. I’m Cam. This site is where I share what I’ve learned and what has made a real difference in our home.
Why microplastics?
Because of the wave of new research, set against the unending ocean of products made from plastics. Plastics are everywhere, and we use countless products every day that add to our exposure.
Are you a scientist?
No, but I do have a B.S. in Medical Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. I read the full studies, link every source and say when a finding is early or disputed. See what the science says so far on our mission page.
How do you choose products?
We check what a product is made of, including coatings, liners and packaging, where plastic often hides. We recommend what we use or would use in our own home.
How does the site make money?
