Hi. I’m Cam.

Thank you for taking the time to explore the site.

I started this site because there is a drastic need to reduce the consumption of plastic products and our exposure to microplastics

As a millennial I grew up around plastic, as I’m sure most of you reading this did as well. Plastic dinnerware, plastic water bottles, plastic food storage, plastic beverage containers, plastic packaging… it was always around.

Fast forward 25 years into the future and plastic is even more prevalent than before. It’s gotten to the point that it’s been virtually impossible to find a human being who doesn’t have traces of microplastic in their blood. To me, that was pretty frightening to learn about.

Now, my plastic consumption I would generally categorize as average. We use refillable water bottles and try to reduce our overall consumption, but in 2024 I decided it was really time to make a change. My wife and I started removing as much plastic from the house as we could. Cutting boards were swapped out, cooking utensils were replaced, and single use items were removed in favor of bulk items packaged in glass or metal that had multiple uses.

I’m not an expert or a scientist, just a regular person trying to make more thoughtful choices and help others do the same. I share what I’m learning, the products I actually use, and the stuff that’s made a difference in our home. While I don’t expect to change the habits of global consumerism and supply, I hope that I can help those interested live a more sustainable lifestyle that minimizes you and your family’s exposure to microplastics.

If you’re curious about cutting back on plastic or just looking for simple, realistic ways to make a change, I hope this space helps.

Thanks for being here.
